Joshua Norrid

Industry Vice President, Travel and Leisure

Joshua Norrid is the industry vice president of Travel and Leisure for Progress Software, applying his deep knowledge of the sector to the design, development and integration into the company’s travel specific solutions. He is an integral part of the management consulting support to Progress Software’s significant customer base in this area.  Norrid also provides strategic guidance for the development and ongoing leadership of the Progress go-to-market strategy for the travel and leisure vertical.

Prior to joining Progress, Norrid was the senior director of the Application and Data Architecture division at Southwest Airlines, the largest domestic carrier in the US. He was responsible for facilitating weekly IT Governance and control with the Architecture Working Group.

Before that, Norrid was a managing consultant with IBM in the Global Travel and Transportation industry practice. There, he identified, developed, and implemented strategic business solutions for a multitude of travel-related service companies worldwide. Joshua’s work at IBM included customers such as Marriott International, Royal Caribbean, Cendant, Galileo International, Cheaptickets.com and Starwood Hotels and Resorts. He also served as Chief Architect and Project Manager during the development of industry-standard CRM data models for the airline and hotel industries.

Norrid was ranked 23rd in the InfoWorld 100 award in 1998 for his innovative approach to technology that has a direct impact on the business. He was also recognised by the Chairman of IBM for intellectual property submission leading to a patent in 2001. Norrid is an accomplished technology leader with a proven track record in leading high-performance Information Technology teams in a wide variety of technical disciplines, such as infrastructure operations and software development.
