DEC Authentication now uses Azure Active Directory

October 02, 2019

We are very excited to announce that DEC user authentication is now based on Microsoft Azure AD (AAD) as a more global, secure, and scalable system. This will also enable our customers to benefit from a single sign on to both Sitefinity CMS (including Sitefinity Cloud) and DEC, use existing corporate AAD accounts to log in to DEC.

All current DEC user accounts and all existing permissions have been switched over to the AAD. All DEC users should have received an email invitation to migrate their accounts to use Active Directory. Please note that as we use some of the built in tools of Azure Active Directory, the migration and invitation emails come from Microsoft Invitations invites@microsoft.com – this is safe. To complete the account migration, please follow the instructions in the new invitation emails.

If you did not receive, or accidentally deleted, or your spam filter ate the initial invitation email, you will have the option to resend it manually by visiting https://dec.sitefinity.com/user-migration. Alternatively, your account or datacenter administrator will be able to resend the invitation using the DEC administrative console
