JOB SUMMARY:
The Social Media Manager at Progress is one of the most creative and collaborative roles on our Corporate Communications team. Reporting to the Employer Brand Manager, you will showcase the people, culture and values that make Progress a top place to work, as recognized by the Boston Business Journal, and Forbes. You will drive organic and paid content for our thriving global operation in the B2B tech space. You will be a big part of our overall marketing campaigns and build and execute the social-only relevant campaigns that complement them. Your strategy will help attract top talent to our ranks and shine a spotlight on our corporate social responsibility program, Progress for Tomorrow. You will give an authentic voice to a leading, customer-centric brand.

This position is critical to our success and highly visible across the organization. The Social Media Manager ensures the integrity of our content, messaging and branding across all of our social media channels, collaborates with our business units, product channel owners, spokespeople and bloggers, drives influencer engagement, promotes our thought leaders, and is entrenched in the social media landscape, providing direction as the latest news, views, trends, channels and technologies change.

Progress doesn’t just need someone to manage our social media calendar and share the latest blog posts. We’re looking for someone who loves to engage with our audience, and plan, write and execute vibrant multimedia content that can entertain, inform and help us make a difference for our people, our communities and our world.

WHAT YOU WILL DO IN THIS ROLE:
  • Create and maintain engaging content across all Progress social channels including: Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, & YouTube with a focus on our emerging Instagram initiatives.
  • Engage with our audience by responding to comments, answering questions, and nurturing polite and thoughtful exchanges with the goal of expanding our audience.
  • Help lead our internal Brand Ambassador Program - recruit, train, and advise our internal influencers on best practices and strategy to promote Progress on their personal social channels.
  • Track, analyze and understand social media analytics, and deliver monthly reports on performance against KPIs and industry benchmarks. Proactively share learnings with actionable recommendations to optimize engagement, relevance and reach for continuous improvement.
  • Leverage both organic and paid social campaigns to develop brand awareness, including promotions and competitions.
  • Implement social media SEO tactics aligned with keyword and SEO strategies.
  • Collaborate with our design and video teams to ensure consistent branding and “voice.”
  • Partner with Demand Generation to ensure brand integrity on our product social channels, ensuring alignment with the corporate channels.
  • Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications.
  • Some travel required.
WHAT THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL NEED TO HAVE:
  • Proven social media experience in a corporate communications/marketing environment or agency experience. Experience in B2B tech a plus.
  • Experience with paid social promotion and ability to execute and report upon such promotions.
  • Strong understanding of the social media landscape both in the U.S. and for international audiences.
  • Solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics.
  • Experience using community management/listening & publishing tools (Sprout, Sprinklr, Hootsuite etc.) and editing tools like Canva, Photoshop
  • Verifiable examples of social media marketing successes
  • Excellent writing and editing skills. Design and video production experience a plus.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and time management
  • Ability to work in a team environment across departments and regions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage resources and several projects simultaneously.
  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, computer science or related discipline
