Job Summary

Progress Software is currently looking for a Sales Engineer to join our team.  As an engineer by heart and a business person by occupation, you will identify customers’ technical needs and business objectives, develop a technical sales strategy and present Progress solutions.  You will work closely with sales account executives to win net new customers and partners as well as expand existing partner channel business.

*This is a WFH/remote opportunity for the right person, though candidates that can work in our Waltham, MA office would be preferred.


About the role:

  • Sales support including documented discovery, solution validation, standard and customized demonstrations, proof of concept/value and actions to advance and close sales opportunities and business partner initiatives
  • Learn how to position all Progress solutions in addition to having an area of expertise
  • Provide technical support to the sales team and prospects throughout the sales cycle
  • Respond to requests for proposals and requests for information
  • Create customized product demonstrations for prospective customers
  • Be aware of competitive solutions and provide feedback to the marketing and development teams

About You:
  • A degree in Computer Science and/or Business Administration or related field
  • 2-5 years experience working with Content Management Systems (CMS) in Sales Engineer or similar customer facing role
  • Experience with marketing analytics and content personalization is an advantage but not required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft .NET and/or prior programming knowledge in HTML, ASP, ASP.NET (C#, VB.NET)
  • Knowledge of JavaScript, XML and CSS is a big advantage
  • Previous background in a technical customer-oriented position is required
  • Outstanding presentation skills and experience in the delivery of complex technical and sales oriented presentations
  • Energetic personality who enjoys working with people and helping customers
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
