QA Engineer II

We are looking for someone that can be local to our Madison WI office, though majority of the role will be done from your home office.

JOB SUMMARY:
As a Quality Engineer II at Progress, you will be working on the MOVEit File Transfer product line as a vital component of the engineering team. You will work closely with your scrum team to design, build and maintain automated tests, which will be used to verify the quality of new software releases. You will also have the opportunity to improve existing processes and to help define the future of the testing framework used for MOVEit products.

WHAT YOU WILL DO IN THIS ROLE:
  • Participate in agile software development working closely with product owners, developers and QE peers within and across the scrum teams
  • Design, execute and automate test scenarios and test cases based on feature requirements
  • Participate in code reviews and optimize code using development best practices
  • Research, propose and actively contribute to choosing and establishing the most optimal test automation tools, frameworks and processes
  • Perform exploratory testing in complex scenarios
  • Review and validate existing documentation
  • Work with Technical Support Engineers to analyze and resolve complex customer problems
  • Build subject matter expertise in various product domains and utilize this knowledge to propose and implement product quality initiatives
WHAT THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL NEED TO HAVE:
  • Experience building and supporting automated tests
  • Experience with various test automation tools
  • Java and/or .NET development experience
  • Basic understanding of file transfer protocols (SFTP, FTP/SSL)
  • Good communication and collaboration skills
  • Problem solving skills
NICE TO HAVE BUT NOT REQUIRED:
  • PowerShell scripting
  • SQL experience (MySQL, MSSQL, Postgres)
  • Experience troubleshooting applications in the Windows Server environment
