You will be responsible for the delivery of technical product presentations and demonstrations, including the mapping of technical functionality to business needs in support of sales. As a Progress Sales Engineer, you will organize and manage proof of concepts including initial setup and final evaluation for two of our flagship solutions: LoadMaster and MOVEit
What you’ll be doing if you join our team:
- Technical presentations customized to the business needs of prospects, partners, and customers
- Product demonstration that supports the sales process by building technical proof points mapped to business needs
- Design and management of technical proof of concepts (POCs)
- Advice sales on sizing and design of license needs for individual opportunities
- Position the full Progress Enterprise Application Experience product portfolio including industry-leading leading solutions
- Provide live and virtual presentations of the provided user’s end users and partners
- Advice sales on the technical aspects of a given sales opportunity
- Deliver technical certification training to partners and direct customers
- Support partners and their technical sales activities within their territory including advocacy within the wider Progress organization
- Communication with internal Progress Application Experience teams
- Maintain ongoing personal development and skill advancement
- Proposal preparation based on Request for Information/ Request for Product using best practice tools and methodologies
- Support marketing campaigns by conducting webinars, attending conferences, blogging, case study, and collateral creation
To be successful in this role you’ll need:
- Working knowledge of main security protocols, ideally being CISSP certified or having a demonstrable security background
- Experience in privacy and compliance
- Experience in Sales Engineering activities such as presentations, demonstrations, RFI response management, and technical enablement
- Presentation, communication, and demonstration skills based on industry best practices such as Demo2Win
- Knowledge of API mediation and application integration including WebServices, JSON, REST, PowerScript, and API Gateways
- Familiarity with virtualization, containerization, and architectural best practices such as VMWARE, Google Cloud, Azure, Docker, TOGAF, and Dell EMC - Microsoft Azure Certifications a plus
- A desire to enhance current skill levels, both technical and soft skills, as part of your own personal development
