Pre Sales Engineer -- CALA

Join us as a Sales Engineer working out of your home office, preferably in Mexico but we’re also open to other parts of Northern Latin America.

Main tasks of Sales Engineer is to support potential customers and partners in various stages of projects (presentation, proof of concept, detailed design, implementation, post-implementation support, etc.). Responsibilities consists in product presentation and demonstration to encourage customer interest into Progress Enterprise Application Experience products and create new business opportunities. Presales includes the organization of proof of concepts including initial setup and final evaluation. Other tasks include answering technical questions, sizing and product design and having technical presentations on events like workshops or conferences as well as communication with partners and their support and training.

  • Provide live and virtual presentations of the product interface to both end users and partners
  • Ability to drive and manage a sales opportunity from discovery, proof of concept, testing, deployment, hand-off, and end user training
  • Partner Trainings
  • Primary contact for technical requests from customers in Latin America
  • Support of partners and their activities in the territory
  • Communication with internal Progress Application Experience teams
  • Consultancy and proposals based on RFI/RFC/RFP
  • Presentations on workshops and conferences
  • IT background, deep knowledge of switching, routing, TCP/IP
  • Experiences in enterprise IT area
  • Experiences in presales and communication with customers
  • Deep understanding of Load Balancing, APM, NDR, Network Performance Monitoring.
  • Read and understand technical documents and explain to customers/partners
  • Communication skills
  • Billingual English – Spanish, Portuguese is a plus.
  • Familiarity with products and technologies such as VMWARE, Microsoft, and Dell EMC
  • Self-motivated, focused on results and success
  • Willing to learn new stuff and ready to work in team
  • In-depth understanding of Internet related protocols (TCP, UDP, HTTP, FTP, etc.)
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Lync, and/or Microsoft SharePoint
  • Microfsoft Azure Certifications is a plus
  • Ability to craft a compelling message and tailor it for a given audience. Ability to blend technical expertise with simple, everyday language to deliver a message/story that is memorable and beneficial.
  • Being able to travel up to 40% when safe to do such, within all areas of Latin America
