We are looking for a knowledgeable and motivated Data Governance Director to join the Data and Analytics Team in Sofia, Bulgaria.
The Data and Analytics organization is an exciting blend of data, business, and technology. Through the use of industry-leading technologies, the Data and Analytics team at Progress designs and develops enterprise-wide reporting, visualizations and analytic solutions.

A key ingredient to our success is an efficient and effective Data Governance program to ensure that our data is complete, accurate, relevant, and understandable, while managing the various security and compliance risks.
About the role:
- Lead the corporate-wide Data Governance Program at Progress, including serving as the Program Manager and SME on the Data Governance Council and being the designated program owner of its strategic roadmap
- Drive the creation of the Data Governance Strategic Roadmap of annual and longer-term initiatives in collaboration with various stakeholder groups including the Data & Analytics organization and the Data Governance Council
- Facilitate roadmap approval and commitment by the Data Governance Council
- Lead and execute on relevant Data Governance initiatives in collaboration with the respective teams
- Create and own the corporate Data Governance Policy
- Implement and own a metadata management solution, including data lineage, data catalog, data quality and observability functionalities
- Facilitate brainstorming sessions, working groups and trainings to inform Data Governance initiatives and educate Data citizens
- Build, implement and own a performance KPI framework to track effectiveness and efficiency of the Data Governance Program and efforts
- Report program status to D&A Director, CIO, and D&A Steering Committee
About you:
- Bachelor`s degree in a business or quantitative field
- Solid experience in a data management role
- Deep understanding of Data Governance areas - security and compliance, data modeling, data architecture, master data management, data quality, and proven track record of leading initiatives in those fields
- Familiar with the metadata management ecosystem and proficient in at least one tool
- Proficient in translating business needs into functional design models and project plans
- Proficient in leading cross-team collaborative initiatives with strategic business impact
- Experience with handling data from various source systems including Oracle Financial Cloud, Salesforce, Eloqua, Jira, Google Analytics
- Experience with influencing and collaborating with senior leadership
- Able to drive multiple projects concurrently and manage conflicting priorities
- Able to get around our data environment using SQL and/or Tableau
- Strong attention to detail
- Stellar communication skills in English
- Analytical, creative, and innovative approach to identify problems and drive solutions
