Chances are, the applications and devices you use every day have infrastructure built, deployed, secured, and run with our code.

JOB SUMMARY:

Progress Software’s Chef business is looking for a Content Specialist to play a role in implementing engagement and retention strategies with customers and prospects using scalable channels. Chef, a pioneer in the DevSecOps space, was acquired by Progress in October of 2020, and we are excited to continue building market momentum.  

As a copywriter, you will produce the written content for web pages, blogs, articles, and other channels. You may also write copy designed to convey valuable information about a brand, industry, or issue. You will engage the reader and motivate them to take the next step in adopting a product or service.

Responsibilities: 

  • Plan and implement the editorial calendar 
  • Carry out project scoping and create clear briefs, to ensure content goals are met
  • Tailor the content and style of individual writing assignments according to their purpose
  • Work with creative teams to ensure that the visual elements of the webpage complement the words
  • Research relevant industries and their audiences
  • Identify fresh and interesting angles for your articles
  • Write for webpages, blogs, and potentially for social media, e-books, slogans, and video scripts
  • Determine sources for content creation 
  • Always stay consistent with our company’s tone and mission. 
  • Write clean, concise, well-polished content
  • Understand customer challenges to develop a more effective editorial calendar. 

Qualifications: 

  • 2 to 4 years in journalism, content marketing, or similar roles 
  • Must have an online portfolio URL in your resume - demonstrating big, campaign able thinking that can extend into any medium
  • Strong understanding of digital and social platforms, as well as their use within marketing
  • Exceptional writing skills that demonstrate the ability to create campaign content that attracts retains, and grows an audience
  • Proven ability to work cross-team and synthesize feedback and input from marketing, product management, sales, market research, internal and external partners
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time to make aggressive deadlines
  • Self-starter who can work independently to solve complex problems
  • Can distill marketing challenges and business goals down into focused creative briefs
  • Can work backward from briefs shared by internal and external stakeholders and turn them into innovative concepts
