Job Summary
The Business Development Representative position is responsible for qualifying business by phone, email and social media. An important point of contact with prospective and existing customers, the Business Development Representative has full responsibility for delivering a positive customer experience that will set the stage for continued engagement and growing interest in Progress technology and expertise.

The Business Development Representative will interact with prospective and existing customers via telephone, email and online chat. Leads result from direct customer engagement with online resources; marketing qualification based on lead scoring process; or others identified through marketing programs and/or prospect’s behavior.

What you will do:

  • Outbound prospecting to build pipeline for three Senior Inside Sales Reps, and one Inside Sales Rep, Associate
  • Review, contact, and qualify marketing-generated leads
  • Generate sales by phone for defined new customer segments, from initial contact to signed agreement
  • Collaborate with supporting team members and delegate appropriate tasks
  • Maintain and update Salesforce.com to accurately track all relative customer data, business insights, and record of interactions and ensure forecasting accuracy
  • Use tools like ZoomInfo and LinkedIn Sales Navigator to identify and qualify decision makers who can utilize Progress solutions
  • Leverage supporting systems such as Outreach.io, Chorus.ai and Tableau to help support day-to-day activities
  • Make a minimum of 30 strategic outbound calls per day
  • Articulate to customers the business and technical benefits of Progress solutions
  • Interpret customer requirements, proactively act to identify solutions that meet customer needs
  • Attend regular online and in-person product sessions to develop expertise in Progress products
  • Attend regular online and in-person sales trainings becoming an expert in the Sandler selling methodology
  • Work flexible hours to cover the North American time zones where needed (11am-8pm typical hours with occasional requests to take later meetings)

Your profile:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year of Lead Generation and 
    Cold-calling (or sales) experience
  • Passion for the tech industry and selling
  • Enthusiasm, Drive, and Confidence
  • Go-getter attitude, discipline, and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Competitive edge and thrives in a team environment
  • Knowledge of German, Spanish or French would be a plus
