I am very excited that my Dreamforce speaking engagement on real-time SQL access to Salesforce "sold out" within a couple hours! The Dreamforce developer marketing teams have been working to accommodate additional attendees, and you can check back with our blog next week, or with the Dreamforce organizers for the latest details on our sessions and developer zones. Progress DataDirect will be hosting booth 1539 on the Cloud expo floor.
Real-time SQL Access for Your Salesforce.com Data
Do you want SQL access to your Salesforce CRM, Force.com, and Database.com data? In this session, you will learn how to achieve this with real-time SQL-92 access using ODBC and JDBC directly against your Salesforce cloud database. Join us to see how this unique data connectivity is now possible, and how other organizations use SQL access to get even more out of the Salesforce data running their businesses.
The most recent real-time SQL access to Salesforce demo I presented was at the Collaborate 12 Oracle User's Group in Las Vegas and we received a roaring applause! I am hoping this series of demos will be even more popular at Dreamforce, and it shows how SQL ODBC access to Salesforce transforms Salesforce.com data ...
... into real-time interactive visual insights worth a thousand words using your favorite data visualization tool.
The second part of the demo shows a JDBC application deployed out on Heroku, and demonstrates the real-time cache which improves performance and limits API calls against Salesforce.
Along with the demos, I will share real-world use cases your organization can leverage immediately upon your return from Dreamforce. And while in San Francisco, I recommend trying a local morning bun at either Tartine's in the mission; or at the Downtown Bakery stand at the Ferry Building Farmer's Market on Saturday Morning.
See you in San Francisco!
