* The vanilla May 2003 PTF and any subsequent PTF (until further notice) with the Visual Age 6.0 compiler are considered to be Unserviceable.

Beginning with the October 2003 if the ObjectStore patch for amber 18428 AND the IBM patch fixing APAR IY52094 are installed the configuration will be considered to be Maintained.

Platform Notes:

• The ObjectStore installation program uses compress and uncompress, and looks for them in /usr/bin. If you are installing ObjectStore on a linux platform, you will need to install ncompress-4.2.4-31.i386.rpm to get these utilities
• The default vm.max_map_count kernel parameter limits the address space to 256 MB. Use "sysctl -w vm.max_map_count= value" to change the value.

Solaris (32-bit Forte)

Platform Notes:

• Solaris 8 requires Sun Patch 108434-10 or greater for Sun ONE Studio 7.0 32 bit compiler use
• Solaris 9 requires Sun Patch 111711-03 or greater for Sun ONE Studio 7.0 32 bit compiler user
• Sun Patch 108528-14 or greater is recommended for all Solaris 8 systems running ObjectStore for its resolution of BugID 449415. This patch is included in the current Solaris 8 recommended patch cluster.
• Supported JMTL Appservers are Weblogic Server 6.1 sp 2 and Weblogic 7.0
• Support Cluster Software is Sun Cluster 3.0 5/02 Solaris 8 SPARC
• OSJI requires the environment variable LD_PRELOAD set to $OS_ROOTDIR/lib/libosopdel.so

If you are using ObjectStore's built-in failover or failover as provided by the Sun Clusters 3.0 operating system, you may be able upgrade to Release 6.1 Service Pack 1 without having to take your system out of service by performing a rolling upgrade. Solaris (64-bit Forte)

• Solaris 8 requires Sun Patch 108434-10 or greater and 108435-10 or greater for Sun ONE Studio 7.0 64 bit compiler use
• Solaris 9 requires Sun Patch 111711-03 or greater and 111712-03 or greater for Sun ONE Studio 7.0 64 bit compiler use
• Sun Patch 108528-14 or greater is recommended for all Solaris 8 systems running ObjectStore for its resolution of BugID 449415. This patch is included in the current Solaris 8 recommended patch cluster.
• You can build and run 32-bit or 64-bit applications on 64-bit hardware, but you cannot build or run 64-bit applications on 32-bit hardware
