Release Notes:
- The HP-UX kernel patch PHKL_20995 and any dependent patches are required. If this patch is not installed, ObjectStore can cause the operating system to crash (a UNIX kernel panic).
- The HP-UX kernel patches, PHNE_23456 and PHNE_23249, and all dependent patches must also be installed for ObjectStore to operate correctly. PHCO_23770 is a dependent patch that must be installed to enable correct pthread operation.
New features:
- New in the ObjectStore (OSCI) module of this release is a C++ Middle-Tier Library (CMTL) module that provides a transaction facility for C++ similar to the JMTL module provided in a previous release of ObjectStore as well as the Javlin product.
- Dump/Load performance improvements are included in this Service Pack.
- HP-UX 32-bit now supports OSCI, OSJI, DDML, CMTL, and JMTL.

Release Notes:
- Databases created on a release before 6.0 must be upgraded to the 6.0 format using the Dump and Load facility. Please see the documentation and release notes regarding Dump and Load.
- Service Pack 5 and 6 clients are not compatible with earlier versions of the ObjectStore cache manager. The client and the cache manager must be from SP5 or SP6.
- If a database has been created or updated by an ObjectStore 6.0 Service Pack 5 or 6 server, it cannot be used by an ObjectStore Release 6.0 Service Pack 3 or earlier server.
- JDK 1.3 is unserviceable for this release.

- ObjectStore C++ Interface (OSCI) is supported on the 64-bit Solaris 2.8 operating system.
- Databases written by ObjectStore6.0.6 Solaris (64-bit) are not supported for heterogeneous access from any other version of ObjectStore including other 6.0.6 versions and earlier 6.0 versions. Heterogeneous access of ObjectStore Solaris 64-bit written databases should be avoided; if tried the access will appear to work correctly but in some cases will corrupt data.
- The use of ObjectStore 6.0.6 Solaris (64-bit) to access databases written by any other version of ObjetcStore is also not supported andrisks data corruption.
- Heterogeneous access to databases written by ObjectStore for Solaris (64-bit) and using ObjectStore for Solaris (64-bit) to access databases written by other ObjectStore versions will be supported in a future version of ObjectStore.
