Description
.NET Client Development with OpenEdge Applications and VB.NET covers the steps required to develop VB. NET applications that access OpenEdge business logic and data.
OpenEdge Release 10 provides developers with the tools and technologies to access application business logic from a variety of interfaces. One development environment that can be used to develop a user interface is the Microsoft .NET Framework and Microsoft VB.NET. With the VB.NET programming language, developers can access business logic and data written using the Progress 4GL.
Version compatibility
This course is compatible with OpenEdge 10 only.
Software requirements
Exercise files are provided for the OpenEdge 10.0A release. Throughout this training course, you will run hands-on exercises using your live versions of OpenEdge 10.0A, and Microsoft VisualStudio.net.
In order to run the sample application for this course and/or test application logic developed in exercises, you will need to be able to access an OpenEdge Application Server that is connected to a specific database. If you are unfamiliar with the setup and configuration of a database in multi-user mode or the configuration of an OpenEdge Application Server, consult with a person within your organization who can assist you with the steps that follow.
