Mohr Morawa in Vienna is Austria's leading book wholesaler. The company, which has around 200 employees, supplies books to bookshops and also to other markets such as sports, department and DIY stores. In its 24,000 square metre warehouse Mohr Morawa stocks around 100,000 titles from a range of publishers.

Challenge

The booksellers in Austria, who make up Mohr Morawa's clientele, repeatedly asked the company whether it was possible to search Mohr Morawa's stock of books online via the web, instead of having to call the company to find out about the availability of different titles.

Solution

Within a few hours and with the help of a Progress Software consultant Mohr Morawa had developed a 4GL procedure with input and output parameters which extracted the necessary information from the Progress database.
