Progress Software completed its acquisition of IONA Technologies PLC on September 12, 2008. Progress Software intends to fund the purchase price on or before September 26, 2008.

Holders of American Depository Receipts (ADRs) in IONA will be contacted shortly by Deutsche Bank Trust Company, the depositary of the ADRs about payment. Under Irish law, Progress has until September 26, 2008 to fund the purchase price. If you have questions in the meantime, contact Deutsche Bank at (877) 248-6417 or (718) 921-8317. Although the price Progress will pay for each share is $4.05 per share, Deutsche Bank will charge a $0.05 per share cancellation fee.

Holders of IONA shares will receive payment from ComputerShare, IONA’s transfer agent, shortly after Progress funds the purchase price. Under Irish law, Progress has until September 26, 2008 to fund the purchase price. If you have questions in the meantime, contact ComputerShare at 353 1 2163100.
