Ram Gupta currently serves on the board of directors at Progress Software, S1 Corporation, Yodlee Inc., Plateau Systems, Compiere, and Accruent, Inc. Gupta brings over 20 years strategy and execution expertise at global technology companies, including PeopleSoft, WebMD, Silicon Graphics, IBM and Tata Consultancy Services. He holds several patents in the U.S. and was awarded the Smithsonian Computer World "Search for the Heroes" Award for the year 2000.
Previously, Gupta was the president and CEO of Cast Iron Systems, Inc. Before that he was the executive vice president at PeopleSoft, where he was instrumental in taking the company from primarily an HR applications vendor in the U.S., to the second largest vendor of application suites worldwide. Ram was also the executive in charge of the company's $1.8 billion acquisition of JD Edwards that set off the consolidation trend in the ERP industry.
Prior to PeopleSoft, Gupta was the senior vice president and general manager at WebMD Corp. Before that he held various leadership positions at Silicon Graphics, IBM and Tata Consultancy Services.
