John Goodson is Senior Vice President, Product Development Group at Progress Software.
Goodson brings significant technical and business leadership to the company. Goodson has served as a technical expert on numerous international standards groups such as the ANSI H2 Committee as well as several Java Expert Groups including JDBC and Java Rowsets. He helped develop and evolve numerous popular standards including J2EE, JDBC, .NET, ODBC, SQL, SQL CLI, and ADO.NET. He is a well-known data integration expert and author of The Data Access Handbook: Achieving Optimal Database Application Performance and Scalability published by Prentice Hall. He is also a co-patent holder for inventing a distributed transaction mechanism for Microsoft SQL Server through Java. Goodson has previously served as the General Manager of both the DataDirect and Enterprise Business Systems divisions within Progress. He currently leads all product functions including Product Management, Solutions Marketing, and Industry and Product Development.
Goodson holds a B.S. in computer science from Virginia Tech.
