Dave Benson is the executive vice president and chief information officer (CIO) for Progress Software. In this role, he is responsible for developing and executing a global IT strategy. He ensures that the IT organization has the capabilities necessary to deliver critical functionality and information flow to support our existing and changing processes.

Before joining Progress, Benson served as global CIO for News Corporation, where he drove significant change in News Corp’s culture, developing standards and successfully building a collaborative network among disparate IT groups. The changes Dave brought to News Corp delivered significant savings while raising the profile of IT across the company.

Prior to News Corp, Dave held multiple CIO positions at GE. In each of these, he led significant organizational and process change initiatives, ensuring that IT was closely aligned with the respective business and maximizing value for the investment in IT.
