Calling all Developers! Show us your best mobile app!

10 Weeks. 5 Winners. Over $25,000 of prizes.

It’s time to show the world (and more importantly your mother!) how good you are building a mobile app. We’re excited to launch the Progress App Dev Challenge, which has lots of cool prizes for mobile apps built using the OpenEdge platform.

In case you were hiding – or away at a tropical paradise -- for the last few months, the OpenEdge Mobile App Builder and visual designer (OpenEdge 11.2)  released in February allows you to produce feature-rich mobile apps for the iOS and Android platforms, with a “write once, run anywhere” approach. With no need to learn device-specific languages or development environments, you can create full-featured apps quickly and easily. And your app can access all of the most important device capabilities users want from the camera to the GPS to the microphone.

Interested?  Then start by checking out the terms and conditions on the Rules tab and read on! We can’t wait to be dazzled by what you create.

What you need to know before you start

The app can be either a new app or a mobile version of an existing app but must be developed using the OpenEdge Mobile App Builder. The app can run on a single or multiple mobile devices (phone or tablet).

The goal: Build your best mobile app.

Simple, right?

Deadline for entries is 31 July 2013 but you must first pre-register to participate. Winners will be announced at Progress Exchange 2013 in Boston on 8 October.

Criteria
Apps will be rated by a mix of Progress and third-party judges and will be judged on the following criteria:
