New in ObjectStore Enterprise and PSE Pro V7.3
Capitalising on over twenty years of ongoing development, the Progress ObjectStore product family continues to evolve to bring you faster, smarter and more reliable data management. Our latest offering, version 7.3, brings further improvements to the product line to enable users to continue to rely upon ObjectStore to provide the data storage solutions for all end users mission critical applications without compromising performance or scalability.
Progress® ObjectStore® v7.3 has undergone some significant changes that will become apparent in future releases as we move the products release cycle to a simpler, Service Pack type model. This will give you a much simpler migration path to ensure that you can adopt new releases in a timelier manner without having to undergo onerous migration, testing, and deployment processes. This more user friendly release model will not deviate from our established policy of continuously improving the product to offer an overall better ObjectStore experience.
In addition to this work that has been undertaken “under the covers”, version 7.3 also offers a number of other improvements, including:
- Collection Manager Improvements: A new utility, oscollmgr and related class os_collection_manager
- Support for certain new C++0x data types (where available in specific compilers)
- Database Viewer support for PSE Pro C++
- DSA now supports DSA: Data is now passed encrypted from the browser to the DSA Server
- Wide character string support in Database Viewer
- Database Viewer now available on HP-UX
- 64 bit .NET interface (OSNI)
