VARBusiness Magazine Names Progress Software's Julie Christiansen One of the 50 Most Powerful Women of the Channel

BEDFORD, Mass. (BUSINESS WIRE)
24-Aug-2006

Progress Software Corporation (Nasdaq: PRGS), a supplier of leading technology to develop, deploy, integrate and manage business applications, today announced that CMP Technology's VARBusiness magazine recognized Julie Christiansen, director of partner development and marketing at Progress Software, as one of the top 50 women in technology in the publication's first annual "Power 50 Women of the Channel."

The "Power 50 Women of the Channel" were chosen by the editors of VARBusiness magazine based on their achievements as executives and the amount of influence they wield over the technology channel. The 50 women represent a changing trend in a traditionally all male industry. These businesswomen epitomize what it means to be a female IT leader and role model for other women through innovation and leadership.

Lawrence M. Walsh, VARBusiness' editor, says, "executives like Julie Christiansen highlight an important shift in the technology business. We're happy to see women reaching the highest levels at some of the most dynamic companies in the business."

"Under Julie's leadership, we have introduced new programs to help our application partners accelerate the adoption of emerging technologies such as Service Oriented Architectures and provide them with the skills and strategic insight required for success in a highly competitive market," said Paul McNulty, vice president of worldwide marketing for Progress Software. "Progress partners that have participated in our numerous programs have experienced significant technology and business advancements. We applaud VARBusiness for recognizing Julie's contributions to the channel and recognizing successful women like her that are advancing technology in our industry."
