Progress Software Names Peter Sliwkowski President of New ObjectStore Operating Company
Appointment Reflects Growth in ObjectStore Sales and Increased Role of ObjectStore in Corporate Strategy for Real Time Event Data Management and RFID

Progress Software Corporation (PSC) (Nasdaq: PRGS), a leading supplier of technology to develop, deploy, integrate and manage business applications, today announced that Peter Sliwkowski has been promoted to president of its ObjectStore operating company, which provides products for real-time data management. As president of ObjectStore, Sliwkowski will be responsible for growing both the company's product and customer bases. In his prior position as vice president and general manager of ObjectStore, Sliwkowski led the ObjectStore product, sales, and marketing efforts since the technology was acquired along with eXcelon at the beginning of 2003.

Over his 16-year career at Progress Software Corporation, Sliwkowski has held a number of positions focused on the development of the Progress 4GL and the OpenEdge platform including engineer, product architect, manager, and director. Since 1997, as Vice President of Products, Sliwkowski led the OpenEdge product team to the delivery of Version 9 and most recently, Version 10.0A, the first release of OpenEdge oriented around a service-oriented architecture.
