Trading platform wins prestigious Best Automated Trading award
LONDON (BUSINESS WIRE)
13-Mar-2009
Progress Software Corporation (NASDAQ: PRGS), a global provider of application infrastructure software used to develop, deploy, integrate and manage business applications, today announced that it has won ‘Best Automated Trading Product’of the year, with the Progress® Apama® CEP platform, at the Technical Analyst awards.
The awards took place at the Sheraton Park Lane in London, on Thursday, 12th March, 2009. The judges were specifically looking for the best automated trading platform or software for professional traders and fund managers.
Progress Apama’s entry was based on the powerful functionality of the Progress Apama algorithmic trading platform, customer references and cutting-edge customer case studies. Apama was nominated for its ability to allow traders to rapidly design, deploy and refine automated strategies. The Apama platform also provides solution accelerators in areas such as FX aggregation, smart order routing and algorithmic trading applications.
The award celebrates Progress Apama’s ability to produce a pioneering initiative to support the trading desk, enabling traders to exploit the power of best-in-class complex event processing (CEP) and deliver strategies in an increasingly volatile market. Apama’s CEP technology enables complex trading and risk patterns to be detected in streaming data and acted on with low end-to-end latency.
Dr. Giles Nelson, Senior Director of Strategy, Progress Apama explained: “The win has demonstrated that a CEP platform provides first-class choice for organisations that want to flexibly deploy and evolve trading and risk solutions.”
