SWIFTNet FIN

The Progress Software SWIFTNet FIN Standards Library is one of a series of specialized pre-built packages providing bundled sets of components and services that support highly targeted and business-specific usage scenarios. The SWIFTNet FIN Standards Library is a SWIFTReady Messaging Library accredited by SWIFT and includes support for over 240 message types, 2000 validation rules, and 28,000 test cases.

The SWIFTNet FIN Standards Library is designed to meet the needs of organizations that need their applications to communicate effectively using the SWIFTNet FIN message standards, both internally and with external trading partners. Each SWIFTNet standards release, e.g. SR2007, SR2008, is implemented and maintained by Progress Software to ensure access to a fully maintained reference implementation of the latest standard. Each Standards Library includes:

  • Pre-built data models – data models implement the current and historical SWIFTNet FIN standards release to an unprecedented degree of coverage and accuracy providing:
    >> Complete structural representations of either the full range of FIN message types
(SWIFTNet FIN Enterprise Standards Library) or just those message types required
for the project/environment (SWIFTNet FIN Select Standards Library)
    >> All System and Common Group message types included as standard
    >> Field-level format validation according to SWIFTNet character set rules
    >> Complete implementation of every network validated rule for every FIN message type
    >> Test cases for every message and every rule (design-time package)
  • Deploy on any Java run-time deployment infrastructure environment and transport – Dependent on no specific or proprietary language implementation, the Standards Library leverages open technology standards such as XSD, DTD, XPath, XQuery, open Java code, Hibernate, and various version control systems. Run-time components can be quickly bound to file, database, and a wide range of middleware transports, can be deployed on application servers, in custom frameworks, in Spring containers, in Jini environments, and with various ESB implementations such as Sonic ESB
  • Reference implementations – A bundle of ready-to-run examples for technical familiarization and to speed implementation times are available. These implementations include:
    >> Deployed .java source code and Apache ANT build scripts
    >> Associated class libraries
    >> Developer reference JavaDoc
    >> Instance documents and test cases
    >> Integration code examples
  • Support – Support is provided in the form of software updates, data model updates to ensure continued support of the standard as it evolves, online issue tracking and discussion forums.
