Connect with Oracle Eloqua

You connect your Sitefinity CMS instance with a specific Oracle Eloqua site ID and your company ID. When you integrate Eloqua with Sitefinity CMS, once a visitor lands on the page, Eloqua loads its script on your Sitefinity CMS landing page. On each page view of the landing page, a pageview event is fired in Eloqua.

If the visitor is a known visitor, the pageview data is associated with the relevant contact in Eloqua. If the visitor is not known, a new cookie is issued, which automatically creates a new customer GUID in Eloqua, so the pageview data is stored in Eloqua as an unknown visitor. In both cases, if the same visitor logs from a different computer with their credentials, by logging in, for example, data is mapped and merged to their contact profile and you can access this data for analysis and reporting in Eloqua.

PREREQUISITES:
  • Eloqua license
  • Sitefinity CMS Administrator role assigned to your user

To connect:

In Sitefinity CMS, navigate to Administration » Connector for Eloqua.

  1. In the Eloqua site ID field, paste the site ID from your Eloqua account, for example 123456789.

NOTE: You can find the ID in your Eloqua account. Go to Settings » Display Preferences» Company Defaults. Copy the value from the Site ID field.

  2. Enter your Eloqua user name and password.

RECOMMENDATION: We recommend to set the password of this user to “never expire”. You do this in the Eloqua account settings. The reason is that if the password expires while the website is running on LIVE, this can result in problems for content editors. In addition, changing the password in continuous delivery scenarios results in this problem being present for a larger period of time. For more information about continuous delivery, see Deployment.

  3. Enter you company name.

NOTE: You can find the company name in your Eloqua account. Go to Settings » Display Preferences » Company Defaults. Copy the value from the Company Name field.

  4. Enter the Eloqua form post URL, for example, https://s123456789.t.eloqua.com/e/f2.
This is the URL, to which you submit forms for your site ID.

NOTE: You can find the URL when you open any Eloqua form. Go to Actions (>>) » View Form HTML… » Integration Details. From the Post URL for this form field, copy the value within the quotation marks (“”).

Once you connect with Eloqua and map your forms, your landing page visits, completed forms, and contacts are tracked and data is sent to Eloqua. You can view your reports in the Eloqua dashboard. For more information, see the Oracle Eloqua dashboard documentation.

In case you want to change any of your connection setting, click the Change connection link.
