Progress Apama Integration Environment

Connects to Any Event Data Source, Database or Application

Progress® Apama® offers a robust integration framework with adapters for different event streams and APIs for customization and integration within different application environments.

The Apama Integration Adapter Framework (IAF) facilitates bi-directional exchange with event sources. Within the IAF, Apama offers a wide range of packaged adapters for Capital Markets-specific data sources (click for list), as well as infrastructure connectivity to data and messaging sources (click for list).

The IAF also includes a toolkit to develop new adapters for integration with data sources not yet supported with packaged connections. Apama adapters provide both connectivity and XML-based mapping between the external data format and Apama's internal format. This allows Apama applications to efficiently monitor and analyze disparate event types within a common event processing scenario, supporting applications like FX aggregation, smart order routing and cross-asset trading in capital markets or cold chain automation in supply chain applications.

Apama is otherwise highly extensible with a range of APIs provided at the dashboard, client and Correlator levels for integration with other environments, such as Java, Java Beans, C, or C++. In addition, Correlator functionality can be extended with plug-ins (click here) that can call external function libraries from within an application scenario to augment the Correlator capabilities.
