Progress Apama Event Manager

Real-Time Monitoring and Response

Progress® Apama® Event Manager provides sophisticated real-time execution of event processing scenarios. It delivers low latency analytics on multiple inbound data streams, monitoring the events for patterns identified within Apama scenarios.

Apama Event Manager transcends mere event monitoring to deliver actionable response. Its patented Apama HyperTree architecture can monitor tens of thousands of events per second - with thousands of scenarios - and respond in milliseconds. This sub-millisecond, memory-based execution far surpasses the data and logic constrained capabilities of traditional rules engines.

Event Manager correlation engines ("Correlators") execute the sophisticated event pattern-matching logic defined within Apama scenarios by Apama Event Modeler. The scenarios track inbound event streams and "listen" for events whose patterns match defined conditions. Event Manager can concurrently monitor events from different sources, increasing its correlation sophistication exponentially. Should an event, an event sequence, or an event pattern - in a single event stream or across several - match a scenario, it takes action as defined by the scenario logic.

Thus, it is uniquely appropriate for sophisticated event processing applications like algorithmic trading, where the demands for cross-asset trading and similar applications require a platform that accommodates multiple data streams and can support correlations that apply business and temporal logic spanning those streams.
